Barry votes "present", again.

Remember, Big Ears on the campaign trail promising to go through the budget "line by line" to eliminate earmarks? Seems so long ago, doesn't it? As with all of Barry's promises, this one also comes with an expiry date. He's going to start doing that next year, not right away.

Barack Obama, world famous uni-tasker. For God's sake, no one offer him a piece of gum!

American Press outraged by Obama.

Oops, I meant outrageously the American press has not seen fit to mention the diplomatic faux pas committed by both Barry and Michelle, during the recent visit if Britain's PM, Gordon Brown. Considering The Messiah campaigned on a promise of a new style of diplomacy that would improve our "image " overseas, as if that actually matters. Certain countries will continue to hate us, even as they hold their hands out for more aid.
Newsbusters has more.

Obambi is "too tired."

Oh no they did'ent! Remember on the campaign trail when The Messiah would screw up? You know, forget where he was, and stuff. Remember how they used to cover for him, and say he was fatigued from the campaign? Even though he was the youngest on the trail. Even though McCain was almost 30 years older, but had more vigor. Well, poor widdle Obambi is a widdle bit tired...

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest

This Daily Telegraph article explains that the recent inexcusable rudeness to our closest ally, Great Britain, in the form of PM Gordon Brown, was not due to any policy based differences, or even personal dislikes. It was due to the fact that Obambi and his crack team [no pun intended], have absolutely no idea of the protocol involved in a state visit. They admit he screwed up because he is tired, and incompetent.

Makes you proud, doesn't it?

Car Czar's to visit Detroit.

Two of the people appointed by The Fresh Prez of Bill Ayers to oversee the auto industry are to visit Detroit for a fact-finding mission. For an entire day! That should be enough to learn all the intricacies, and come up with a plan to solve the industries woes. How about they visit a car company in Japan or Germany to see how a profitable company operates. I know, that makes way too much sense.

A bridge too far

The latest brouhaha has Dems outraged that Rush stated, in reference to a proposed health care "reform" bill that,

"Before it's all over, it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill," Limbaugh said

Oh, the horror! It probably will be, so what? Of course, the irony of nationalized health care is that, should Fat Uncle Teddy actually be subjected to it, like us mere mortals, he would be told, because of his age and cancer, to just go home and prepare for the inevitable. That will never happen because Congresscritters themselves will still enjoy private medical care, at our expense, while the rest of us stand on line to die. Ask the Brits how well that worked out. I do not listen to Limbaugh at all, not because I don't like him, rather that I don't really listen to any talk radio. That being said, I feel the more this adolescent administration singles him out, the more people will listen to him. Be careful what you wish for.
When asked for comment, Senator Kennedy [Dead-Mass] stated, "We'll drive off that bridge when we come to it..."

Hillary re-inserts foot.

Fresh from her linguistic gaffe yesterday, HRC continues to show her diplomatic mediocrity. In actual fact, it was a twofer. Not only did she mis-pronounce certain dignitaries' names, she also stated,

because I feel the same way about our own democracy, which has been around a lot longer than European democracy."

It has? That would be news to the Greeks. However, as the heroic survivor of the Tuzla Dash, I am sure she will overcome this small bump in the road to diplomatic posterity.

Is Obama this dense?

Listen to The One breaking his arm trying to pat himself on the back, like a stuttering version of George Clooney at the Oscars, to show a mere $787B has "created or saved" 25 jobs. I tried to work out the cost per job, but my calculator is solar-powered, so you'll have to wait till morning.

BTW, genius-these are jobs that are paid for by taxpayers anyway, so it hardly qualifies as a "stimulus."

Obama administration gift giving is the gift that keeps on giving.

Hillary, who was named after Sir Edmund doncha know, proves yet again that she was the best choice, although constitutionally illegal, to be head diplomat in Obambi's crazy cabinet.

Instead of "reset," Lavrov said the word on the box meant “overcharge.” Clinton and Lavrov laughed

"In old country, government reset you." laughed Yakov Smirnoff, when asked to comment. Read the whole sorry story of ineptitude from the smartest woman in the world.

Al Gore pontificates.

The inventor of the intertubes and consumer of enormous amounts of Twinkie based calories, Al Bore, has once again shown how spineless he really is, in refusing once again, to debate anybody on Global Warming. The science is not in dispute, he often blathers, yet many scientists disagree.
An extremely comprehensive round up over at Gateway Pundit.

Also, a big thanks to Vaclev Havel who continues to shout from the rooftops about how much of a scam this is. He, like many others who fell under Soviet control, is well aware of the many ways Government seeks to control its citizens. It also seeks to make them as dependant on the Government teat as possible. It empowers them. We would do well to heed Mr Havel.

Hillary comes clean.

The gloves are off. Today, Hillary openly stated,

“Never waste a good crisis,” Clinton told a hearing at the European Parliament. “And when it comes to the economic crisis, don’t waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security

This, of course, echoes White House Chief of Staff, and nancy-boy ballerina, Rahm Emanuel's previous statement in a similar vein. So, the fear mongering that was so abusive when used by Mr Bush, is acceptable if it is used by Democrats to further their statist agenda. Glad we cleared that up! Imagine the uproar if Karl Rove had publicly stated such a thing.

Barry and his amazing technicolor Teleprompter.

It seems as hard as he tries, The One has been as successful in weaning himself from the Teleprompter, as he was in the quit-smoking dept. That is to say, he hasn't been. It is beginning to be an embarrassment;

The president’s teleprompter also elicited some uncomfortable laughter after he announced Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as his choice for Health and Human Services secretary. “Kathy,” Obama said, turning the podium over to Sebelius, who waited at the microphone for an awkward few seconds while the teleprompters were lowered to the floor and the television cameras rolled

You know, I am all for Presidential dignity, and all, but this guy is, and always was, an empty suit. If he needs the Teleprompter, that other Presidents have not in the past, let the people see what they have elected. The Emperor has no clothes.

Mortgage malfeasance, continued.

I am getting a little tired of these people begging me to subsidize the mortgage they can no longer afford. I have 2 main gripes, as follows;

After refinancing twice, Mark Klepper owes $1,064,000 on the Miami house he bought for $585,000 five years ago.

and;

But it does little for borrowers who have had significant jolts to their income, or who owe more than their home’s value

Both these quotes are from this New York Times article.

The first guy did some "consolidating", which in most cases meant buying RVs or speedboats, or taking expensive vacations. Why on Earth are we bailing out those people who used their homes like an ATM?
If you owe more than your home is worth, that is the gamble you take with home ownership. It is one that pays off in the long-term, but sometimes not in the short term. Where is it written "thou shalt always have positive equity in thy home?"
When will this madness end?

President-in-Training embarrasses the US...again.

This is almost beyond belief. After dissing British Prime Minister by not having the usual press conference in the Rose Garden, he now humiliates him with a DVD gift set. Obambi, you are the most powerful man in the world; he and his country have been powerful allies for many years. This is how you repay that debt. Please read here about the truly gracious and thoughtful gifts that Gordon Brown presented Obambi. Then contrast the dreck he received in return. Truly a disgrace.

Not to mention the fact that the Europeans have a different DVD system from ours, I would say there is an excellent chance they won't even work in Britain.

Timmy and Charley's excellent adventure.

Tim Geithner, the alleged "wunderkind", and actual tax cheat, has had absolutely zero positive effect on the economic situation in the 5 weeks of his tenure. Lots of negative, though. Here he is, testifying in front of the Ways and Means Committee, headed by pioneer tax cheat Charley Rangel, about how they are going to go after tax cheats.

There was Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, boldly testifying Tuesday before Rep. Charlie Rangel's Ways & Means Committee - promising that the Obama administration intends to propose "a series of legislative and enforcement measures to reduce . . . tax evasion and avoidance."
Did he look Chairman Rangel in the eye when he said this?

The Presidential Quandary.

The always excellent Dr Victor David Hanson has written an excellent piece offering sound advice to the President-in-Training. I doubt very much that he will heed a word, given his hubris, but the article goes to the core of his performance, thus far. From the "audacity of hope" to all gloom and doom, with nary a peep from the MSM. They bought this pup, and are now bound to stick with him. Read it here.

For a supposed uniter, he's one hell of a divider!

Our Dear Clueless Leader

I noticed this story yesterday, but somehow omitted to post on it. The best thing to do, would be to nip over to LGF, and read their take. The Messiah is completely ignorant of the terminology of an institution he is slowly destroying. Not only does he not know what a " P/E ratio" is, remember, he thinks the USA invented the automobile.

I guess book learning ain't all it's cracked up to be!

What's next, Sir O.J.Simpson?

Those limey idiots have decided to bestow a Knighthood on the formerly IRA supporting Ted Kennedy. That he still steals air disgusts me, and the fact that he has maintained a position in the public eye for so long, astounds me. The Kopechne family had no comment.

We can only hope that it is granted posthumously.

Another picture that needs no caption...

...but has one anyway.

It takes a thief to catch a thief...

Back in the day, Old Joe Kennedy was tasked with forming the SEC, under the sound reasoning that the most flagrant abuser of the system, would likely know all the loopholes and dodges. Today, renowned tax cheat Tim Geithner announced the following,

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's Treasury secretary says the administration will unveil a series of rules and measures in the coming months to limit the ability of international companies to avoid U.S. taxes.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday that Obama will propose legislation to limit U.S. companies' ability to shelter foreign earnings from taxation in the U.S. He also said the administration will try to limit wealthy Americans' ability to use
tax havens to avoid taxation.
He did not immediately provide details

You cannot make this stuff up.
